Listed by The Times Travel as one of the UK’s Top 100 Hotels, The Samling receives The World of Fine Wine 3 Star accolade for the first time this year.
Intensive work by General Manager Oliver Smith, and Head Sommelier Robert Patla, with significant investment, has resulted in some stellar additions to the already extensive cellar.
The wine list enhances the menus of Executive Head Chef Robby Jenks, who has regained the restaurants 3 Rosette status, with his pure, clear flavours using local ingredients with home-grown and foraged greens gathered from the kitchen gardens and surrounding 67 acres. He has reintroduced A la Carte menus, giving guests more choice, and is inspired by the landscape The Samling sits in.
Located in England’s largest National Park, designated a Unesco World Heritage Site in 2017, The Samling sits elevated above Windermere with extensive lake and mountain views as a spectacular backdrop to the restaurant – dining at The Samling delivers a real sense of place.
